Hi, I'm Kathleen, a qualified counsellor and healthcare professional with a strong foundation in clinical practice and leadership. I hold a Master of Counselling and Psychotherapy, a Bachelor of Nursing, and postgraduate qualifications in Intensive Care Nursing and Clinical Leadership. I am trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and work from a person-centred, strengths-based, and trauma-informed approach, supporting clients in developing psychological flexibility and creating meaningful, sustainable change in their lives. I have experience working with individuals in alcohol and other drug (AOD) services and within correctional settings, offering compassionate, non-judgemental support tailored to diverse and complex needs. I work alongside individuals navigating a range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, stress and burnout, grief, life-limiting illness and chronic health conditions, as well as identity and life transitions. My work is informed by both my therapeutic training and extensive clinical background. Grounded in empathy and professionalism, I am committed to creating a respectful and inclusive space where clients feel heard, supported and understood.
In addition to my counselling practice, I serve as a NSW Justice of the Peace and volunteer with a crisis support and suicide prevention service.
I meet with clients at Macquarie Cottage, Springwood NSW.
